For all our lovelies who have passed on, may they be forever remembered for giving us their best. We were lucky to have them in our life and enrich our world and our heart.

She had huge ears and a curled up tail, her brindle markings were spectacular, a true beauty. She stole our hearts immediately, especially my dad, who wanted nothing to do with her initially, but no one could resist her charms.

A truly loyal, intelligent, energetic, protector, She was my dad’s best friend. I was told that when I wasn’t there, she would sleep by my parents’ side, but when I visited, she insisted on sleeping outside my room, I guess to protect me. She was so smart and sweet and her bond with us so strong, she fought to the very end without complaints. She was a true princess; one with grace (even in the way she ate so daintily) and poise (always keeping her head held high), yet strong willed and brave-she was no delicate flower. Her kind was unequaled.

She protected my mother and sister in a very long trip once and from that point forward Walla knew that was her job. She knew her strength, but she would never hurt anyone or anything, even though she could easily do so. She once took my mom’s parrot into her mouth, and when my mom ran to her after being in another room and hearing the commotion, she noticed that the parrot was not hurt in the slightest and Walla was just holding it… maybe the parrot fell (it couldn’t fly) and she was just trying to help it, or maybe she wanted to play. You wouldn’t think such a huge dog would be the gentlest, but that was Walla.

He was the cuddliest dog I had ever known till that point. This huge werewolf looking dog would just jump on to my dad and want to be held like a baby. I don’t think he realized that he wasn’t a tiny dog. He was sophisticated and adorable at the same time. He used to sit outside on the porch with my dad, guarding the house and watching over the family. He was truly a fighter, even when he was not well and could hardly walk, he never let a stranger see that he was in pain and would force himself to stand up and position himself to still look like he was just as strong as ever. He was so handsome and affectionate. What a champion.

A truly sweet cat, I am so happy to have been able to meet him. Although I didn’t know him very long, he always greeted me like we were old pals.

There aren’t enough words and there isn’t enough space for me to express how much Marshall meant to me. That is why I am dedicating this site to him. We had a language of our own. He took care of me when I was sick, even when he was sick too. He was so gentle, selfless, affectionate, a great travel buddy, and had a calming affect on others, and even those who did not want to like him couldn’t help but doing so. He held on for so long just to stay with us. He was my best friend. He was the smartest and the sweetest cat and he enriched so many people’s lives. He even helped me to foster kittens, and Spring especially knew how special he was.

Such a wonderful dog. Another one I did not know for long, but I am truly lucky to have met him. He protected his family and gave his heart quite easily.

She was also my dad’s best friend. She helped raise three dogs and showed them how to protect the house. For some reason, though, she never liked to have her photo taken. She lived a rough life before my parents adopted her, but she learned to trust people again and won all of our hearts. She had a huge heart.

For they who’s fate is unknown, we hope they might have had a chance at a longer 2nd life. For the short time they were with us, they too meant the world to us.
Blackie
May 1985 - We had to give her away due to the circumstances, so we’ll never really know what ultimately became her fate. We can only hope that she found a good family who could give her what we couldn’t. She was truly a royal beauty, and she had a heart of gold, even though she didn’t share that with just anybody. Here she is pregnant from Essex with Shadow, Cloudy, Midnight, Azreal and Oreo.

Valentine
June 1989 - I thought him to say hello and I love you. If he heard me on the other end of the phone he would fly to the phone. He also loved radishes, sitting by the window, and flying to my shoulder. He was so smart, when we first adopted him, he walked to the other end of the apartment where we were hanging out and talking, he leaned in and asked, “Can I come in?” what a clever parrot! He was taken from us, but hopefully he either escaped or was taken to someone would at least still give him a wonderful loving home, despite the circumstances of how they acquired him.

Corky
1995 - He was just a soft white gentle chicken. We could chase him around the back yard and he would sit with us happily… I think he would gurgle. He was basically a sweet guy. Until one day the change came over him and we realized he had grown up to become a rooster. Well, I still remember him as the fun loving Corky. He too was taken and so his fate is unknown, but I can always hope he had a second chance to win over another lovely family.
Pets just have this way of getting deep into your heart into that space that no matter how disillusioned or cynical you become, you never lose that part of you. You never close up. They reach you in the core of your heart.
